• Tax identifiers — Tax File Number (TFN), Australian Business Number (ABN), Director Identification Number
• Company information — proposed company name, share structures, director and shareholder details, registered office address
• Payment information — Stripe processes your card details; we store only a reference ID and payment amount
• Usage data — pages visited, registration progress, session identifiers, browser type

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Lodge company registration applications with ASIC via the Business API (BAPI)
• Register your Australian Business Number (ABN) with the Australian Business Register
• Process payments through Stripe
• Send transactional notifications via email (SendGrid) and SMS (Twilio)
• Generate and deliver company documents (e.g. certificates, consent-to-act forms)
• Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries
• Comply with legal obligations, including ATO and ASIC reporting requirements

3. How We Share Your Information

We only share your personal information where necessary to provide our services or where required by law:

• Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) — to lodge your company registration
• Australian Business Register (ABR) — to register your ABN
• Stripe — to process payments (Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment data)
• SendGrid / Twilio — to deliver email and SMS communications
• Supabase — our database and authentication provider (data hosted in Australia)
• BoldSign — for electronic document signing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase infrastructure with Australian data residency. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
• Row-level security (RLS) policies on all database tables
• Session timeouts and automatic session expiry after 24 hours
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth with email confirmation

Sensitive identifiers such as TFNs are transmitted directly to ASIC and are not stored in plaintext beyond the registration lifecycle.

5. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction — request that inaccurate or outdated information be corrected
• Complaint — lodge a complaint if you believe your privacy has been breached

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use localStorage to persist your registration progress between visits. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your registration data for the period required to fulfil our services and comply with legal obligations (typically 7 years for financial and tax records). Draft applications that are not submitted may be deleted after 12 months of inactivity.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app notification. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
